Configuring WebDAV on Your Local Computer |
Setting up WebDAV on Windows 2000/XP |

1. From your myWebCT page, click the WebDAV info link.
The WebDAV info page appears with the URL for the Course files (My-Files) and Course backups for each course that you have access to as a designer. Example: |

2. From the WebDAV info page, select and copy the URL (beginning with the https://) for the course and folder to which you want local access. The Course files folder is the same as your My-Files folder in WebCT. |

3. From the File menu on your Internet browser page, select Open . . . and the following window will appear: |

4. In the Open text box, paste the Course Files URL that you copied in step 2. (To paste, right click in the Open text box and select Paste.) It is also important that you check the "Open as Web Folder" box. The Open window should now look like the following: Click [OK]. |

A Microsoft Web Folder appears which contains your WebCT course files, the folders and files in My-Files. This Web Folder will be permanently located in My Network Places. To make best use of WebCT's WebDAV feature, set up a Web folder for your WebCT courses on each of your work computers. |
Setting up WebDAV on Windows 98/NT |

2. From the WebDAV info page, select and copy the URL (beginning with the https://) for the course and folder to which you want local access. The Course files folder is the same as your My-Files folder in WebCT. |

3. Open My Computer on the desktop and then open Web Folders |
|
4. Select Add a Web Folder. For location, paste your WebCT folder URL (the URL copied in step 2). |
|
5. When prompted for a User Name and Password, enter your netID and password. Important: if the computer is shared with others, as in the case of a lab computer, do not select the "Save this password in your password list" check box. Click [OK]. |

6. In the Network Place text box enter a name. To complete you WebDAV setup, click [Finish]. A Microsoft Web Folder appears containing your WebCT course files. |
Setting up WebDAV on Mac OS 9.x/X |
|
To set up WebDAV on your Mac, you will need a WebDAV client such as Macromedia's Dreamweaver or the freeware Goliath (http://www.webdav.org/goliath/). |

2. From the WebDAV info page, select and copy the URL (beginning with the https://) for the course and folder to which you want local access. The Course files folder is the same as your My-Files folder in WebCT. |

3. If you are using the Goliath client, double-click on the Goliath application to start it up and from the File menu, select New Connection ... |
|
4. The New WebDAV Connection window will appear.
Paste your WebCT folder URL (the URL copied in step 2) into the URL box. Enter your netID and password in the User Name and Password boxes. Click [OK]. (In connecting to your course files on the WebCT server at Nevada, you do not need to use Advanced Settings.) |

5. The WebDav window appears with your selection (Course files or Course backups).

6. From the File menu, select Save Connection or Save Connection As ... and give this connection a name. The next time you want to access these same files, you will start up Goliath and from the File menu select Open Connection. |
