Quiz & Survey Tool
Using the Quiz Tool, your instructor may create quizzes or surveys for you to complete within your WebCT course. Quiz scores may count as part of your final WebCT course grade, or quizzes may be used as anonymous surveys that have no impact on your grade. If your instructor is using the quiz tool, an icon for quizzes should appear either on your WebCT home page or on a separate organizer page within your course.
If your instructor is using the Quiz Tool, you may:
View Available Quizzes
To view your availabe quizzes, click on the link to the Quiz tool. Your instructor may have created the Quiz tool link as an icon on the home page or an organizer page, or as a link in the course menu. Clicking on the link to the Quiz tool brings up the Quizzes and Surveys screen.
The Quizzes and Surveys screen lists quizzes for your course. Click on the Display drop-down menu at the top to adjust which quizzes you view. Select an item and click [Go]. You may view all quizzes or only those that are available or only quizzes that are due within 48 hours or less.
Take a Quiz
To take a quiz, click on the link to the Quiz tool. Your instructor may have created the Quiz tool link as an icon on the home page or an organizer page, or as a link in the course menu. Clicking on the link to the Quiz tool brings up the Quizzes and Surveys screen.
The Quizzes and Surveys screen displays a list of quizzes. If a quiz is available, its name will appear blue. You will be able to click on the name of the quiz to gain access to it. If a quiz is unavailable, its name will appear black, and you will not be able to access it.
Each quiz on the Quizzes and Surveys screen also displays the Availability, Duration, and number of Attempts. Your instructor will have control over all three of these areas. If a quiz has been graded, a 
button will also appear.
To take a quiz, click on its name. A Quiz Introduction or Survey Introduction page appears. Follow the instructions on the screen and click 
.
While taking a quiz, it is recommended that you click [Save answer] to ensure that your work is saved in the event of technical problems. Your instructor may have enabled the function which allows you to go back and change your answer after it is saved.
When finished with the quiz, click [Finish].
View Quiz Results
To view quiz results, click on the link to the Quiz tool. Your instructor may have located the Quiz tool link either as an icon on the home page or an organizer page, or as a link in the course menu. Clicking on the link to the Quiz tool brings up the Quizzes and Surveys screen.
If you have submitted a quiz and it has been graded, a button appears in the Availability section. Click the button to view the Scores page. You may view your scores for a specific quiz attempt by clicking on the number that appears under the Attempts column. The View Results screen appears. Your instructor may adjust how this information is displayed, including displaying correct answers next to your answers.
To return to the Quizzes and Surveys screen, click on Quizzes and Surveys in the bread crumbs at the top of the screen.
If you want to view results for all quizzes:
Click on the Quiz tool icon or link to bring up the Quizzes and Surveys screen.
At the top of the screen, click on 
. The Scores screen appears displaying all quiz scores. To view an individual quiz attempt, click on the attempt number in the Number column. The View Results screen appears.
Return to the Quizzes and Surveys screen using the bread crumbs at the top of the screen.
View Quiz Statistics
You may view either a summary of quiz statistics or statistics for questions in a quiz.
To view summary quiz statistics:
- Click on the Quiz tool icon or link to bring up the Quizzes and Surveys screen.
- At the top of the Quizzes and Surveys screen, click:
- When the Statistics screen appears, select the check box next to the quiz whose statistics you wish to view.
- Under Options, click
. The Summary Statistics screen appears.
- To return to the Quizzes and Surveys screen, click on the breadcrumbs at the top of the page.
To view question statistics:
- Click on the Quiz tool icon or link to bring up the Quizzes and Surveys screen.
- At the top of the Quizzes and Surveys screen, click:
- When the Statistics screen appears, select the check box next to the quiz whose statistics you wish to view.
- Under Options, click
. The Item Statistics screen appears.
- To return to the Quizzes and Surveys screen, click on the breadcrumbs at the top of the page.
