Biography of F. Donald Tibbits:


 

F. Donald Tibbitts was originally a member of the University’s biology faculty. According to University of Nevada School of Medicine records, by 1973 he was affiliated with the Department of Anatomy (which consisted of just three members—Tibbitts, David Melarkey and Lawrence Schneider). He began his career at Nevada in 1959 after serving on the faculty of Oregon State University. Tibbitts’ major work was in histology and embryology, and, along with other subjects, contributed to knowledge of the chinchilla.
