IDT Workshops

The Instructional Design Team offers numerous workshops throughout the year to assist faculty in learning new instructional technologies and in applying those technologies in their teaching.

Please go to the IDT Workshop Registration page to see our Workshop Schedule and to register for the workshops that interest you.

If you have any questions, contact the IDT office by phone (775-682-6798) or email us at idt@unr.edu. We look forward to your participation in a future workshop.

WebCampus Learn workshops:

This hands-on workshop guides instructors through the assessment function in WebCampus Learn. In this workshop you will learn how to create and grade assignments, tests, and surveys, and understand how to apply best practices of online assessment into your course.

Introduction to WebCampus Learn (8 hrs) – This workshop is for new instructors who wish to learn how to create a course using WebCampus Learn.  The focus of this workshop is on course design, developing course content and organizing course materials using the tools available in WebCampus Learn.

This 3-hr Migrating to WebCampus Learn workshop is for users who wish to migrate an existing CE 8 course to WebCampus Learn.  This workshop will focus on copying an existing course and modifying the results.

Bring your questions for this open session.  One of our instructional designers will be on hand to help you prepare your WebCampus course for the upcoming semester.

Brown Bag Lunch Sessions: May 9 & 23 (12-1 pm)

Bring your lunch and join us to learn and discuss how to transform and redesign your face-to-face course into an online or blended course. This series combines effective pedagogical strategies, best practices and hands-on exercises. Participants will utilize the WebCampus Learn platform to gain a strong understanding of how to transform best practices into your online or blended course.

Instructional Design News:

Adjunct professors and LOAs who may not be on-campus full-time or anytime can still work with the Instructional Design Team. We are here to assist with skills development, instructional design support, content development & enhancement, WebCampus, and other related items.  We can work through Skype, live office hours online, and appointments in addition to our on-campus workshops and consultations.   Contact IDT@unr.edu for further information.

If you would like to meet with someone to tune up your courses, starting this summer, IDT will work with you to fine-tune your syllabus and course design on a one-on-one basis. IDT will also provide office hour service in your department upon request.   If you have any questions or need additional help, please contact the Instructional Design Team at idt@unr.edu or (775) 682-6798.
